Our extensive gardens start with our green house of which our vegetable garden is just a small section. Our green house is 16′ X 16′ and is made of old sliding glass door. We have water and power in our green house, a potting bench, sink, and a table and chairs for drinking tea and relaxing after planting seedlings. Everything that is grown in our vegetable garden is started from seeds in our green house. Some of the seeds are saved from the previous year. Many we buy new from Rareseeds.com. I highly recommend their seeds.
We love love love flower gardening. If I had to choose a style of our flower gardens it would be ” Throw everything in and see what lives”. We don’t really stick to a color scheme or theme. I tend to grow what I like at the moment and it seems every year I am in love with a different plant and must acquire every variety and color form. One year it was Tree Peonies. SIGH! what an expensive year that was. Because I am still in love with peony both the tree and herbacious I try to limit myself to only a couple new ones each year and I have a budget that I really do try to stay within. At the moment I have 52 herbacious and 32 tree peony. However as I wander around my gardens there is still plenty of room for more. I have been eyeing some space over by my husbands shop for a new flower bed. When does he go out of town again?
